Charities 2006

All profits from the 2006 Yorkshire Awards Dinner will be donated to Yorkshire-based charities, each nominated by one of the main sponsors of the dinner.

Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp Association

LCHCA provides free holidays for underprivileged children of Leeds aged between 7 and 11 years. This service is unique in the Leeds area and one that is proven to be required by the numbers applying for places.

The Charity owns and maintains a purpose built property in Silverdale near Morecambe where the children are taken to enjoy their holidays and we also hire out this property to other bodies and organisations to raise revenue for the charity to use to provide the holidays.

Building works on the new site started in January 06 and have taken a radical step forward to nearing completion. This has only been achieved through incredible support but it is not over yet. Once the hospice is open it will need further support to raise 1.8 Million pounds each year to cover all of the running costs.
