Leeds-born childhood friends Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall are two of
the UK’s most popular writers. Together they have produced a large
body of work for the cinema, TV and theatre, including the films "Billy
Liar", "A Kind of Loving" and "Whistle Down the Wind" and
the TV series "Worzel Gummidge" and "Budgie".
They both share the award for their outstanding contribution to the cultural life of the County.
