Jessica Ennis - Yorkshire Sporting Achievement 2009

Jessica Ennis - Yorkshire Sporting Achievement 2009Presented by Sir Rodney Walker, chairman, Yorkshire Awards Committee to Jessica Ennis.

Since 2000, Jessica’s progression through the junior and youth competitions has shown that she is a promising talent for the future. At only 23 years old, Jessica has established herself as a multi-eventer and, as we all know, cemented herself in the history books as a World Champion, winning Gold in the heptathlon at this year’s World Championships in Berlin. A rising start of British athletics, Jessica is Sheffield born and bred and the perfect choice for this year’s Yorkshire Sporting Achievement Award.
