projectsWe have a long-standing track record of delivering diverse projects for a wide range of organisations from large multinationals through to small charities. Some of our recent projects… Corus GroupCorus group is a large multinational company formed through the merger of British Steel and Koninklijke Hoogovens. Keyspan technology is responsible for the development of support applications used in the manufacture and testing of steel. In Quality Assurance…Using Delphi 6 and Oracle 8, we have developed systems to manage the results of quality assurance tests on high grade steel. For each test, results are archived and a certificate issued. The archive provides a means to reduce wastage caused by re-testing stored material. Keyspan Technology formed part of the team responsible of the the system analysis and design , and was entirely responsible for the applications subsequent development and implementation. In communications and control…Keyspan Technology has built systems used for communicating and archiving material tracking information executed across a number of hardware platforms including an OpenVMS system, Windows 2000 OPC (OLE for Process Control) Server and Program Logic Controllers (PLC). The system is used in monitoring and control of the soaking pit, monitoring temperatures and gas flows. The PLCs monitor the cutting of hot steel, and the data kept. The data gathered enables a full picture to be maintained of the processes each batch and piece of material has been subjected to. Plant ControlKeyspan Technology has been involved in the maintenance, trouble-shooting and enhancement of a high speed (<0.5ms) process control application responsible for rolling mill control. The high-speed nature of the application provides greater quality control and better efficiency of the finished material, typically steel, aluminium and lead. The application was written in C and C++ to execute on Motorola VME hardware. A further project was undertaken to implement a similar, but lower cost application to run on a Windows RTX system. The Yorkshire AwardsThe Yorkshire Awards is a Yorkshire based organisation dedicated to the recognising the people and organisations who have had an impact on Yorkshire and its people in some way, demonstrating their affection for, and commitment to, the county. Each year televised awards are given in an event designed to raise funds for local charities. Keyspan Technology is responsible for the maintenance of the Yorkshire Awards website, which was recently redesigned to a more contemporary feel, with improved standards compliance and accessibility. |
